From humble beginnings to a $475 million dollar company,
Unishippers has never lost its focus.

UnishippersIn 1987, four entrepreneurs had an idea for helping small and
medium-sized businesses save money on their shipping: consolidate all of
their shipments under one account in order to receive discounts similar to
those of large companies. With just one partner and one product (U.S.
express), this simple concept of aggregate shipping took hold. And when
85 customers came on board in the first month alone, the Utah Shippers
Association was born. Over 30 years later, that common sense
business model has grown into Unishippers – but the focus of giving
smaller businesses discounts and services they can't get on their own is
still the same.

Unishippers was the very first reseller of complete shipping services in the U.S.
and this straightforward concept has proven to be an inspired business strategy.

With businesses across the country seeking lower cost shipping solutions and better customer service and support, Unishippers quickly
turned to franchising as a way to meet the tremendous demand. Over the years, Unishippers franchise ownership has proven to be a perfect
opportunity for entrepreneurs and self-starters, and today there are nearly 300 successful franchises and affiliate locations in business
nationwide. As Unishippers has grown over the years, it has never lost its focus on providing unmatched personal service to small and
medium-sized businesses. And each member of the executive team at Unishippers is also a franchise owner, so they have a unique

    UniShippers Association (USA)
    founded in Salt Lake City as a
    reseller for Purolator Courier.

    UniShippers sells first

    Emery Worldwide purchases
    Purolator Courier.

  • 1989

    Unishippers signs a contract to
    resell Airborne Express.

  • 1992

    Unishippers sells its 100th
    franchise location.

    Unishippers reaches more than
    2 million in shipment volume
    and $30 million in system

  • 1994

    Unishippers becomes
    the largest customer of
    Airborne Express.

  • 1996

    Unishippers sells 200th
    franchise location.

    New logo and new name,
    Unishippers, introduced.

  • 1998

    Unishippers adds freight to its
    product portfolio.

  • 2001

    Unishippers adds DHL
    International Express to its
    product portfolio.

    Unishippers launches its first
    freight click and ship,

  • 2002

    New U logo and brand
    palette introduced.

  • 2003

    DHL purchases
    Airborne Express

  • 2004

    Unishippers Freight Manager
    is launched to replace

  • 2008

    Unishippers signs contract
    with UPS to be its first reseller.

  • 2011

    Unishippers achieves record
    breaking revenue of $342
    million and launches the next
    generation of Freight Manager.

  • 2012

    Unishippers celebrates 25th
    anniversary and announces
    new National franchises.

  • 2013

    Unishippers system-wide revenue
    tops $375 million and sells its
    seventh National franchise.

  • 2016

    Unishippers reports a record high
    system-wide revenue of $475 million
    and is one step closer to reaching its
    2020 goal of $1 billion in revenue.
